COASTAL PAINTING AND RESTORATION
Painting, Fine Finishing, And Expert Restoration
AN EYE OPENING CHANGE - IN ION!
The olive colored, glazed and distressed cabinets in this beautiful Ion home made the kitchen feel dark and depressing. The new homeowners liked the layout and function, so spending thousands on new cabinets seemed an unnecessary expense. And they were correct! The existing finish was skimmed with a surfacing compound to fill in the distress marks, primed, and three coats of acrylic lacquer were applied by spray. The results? A cabinet shop grade, durable, professional finish - and a bright new inviting kitchen!
CABINET RESTORATION - ISLE OF PALMS
These cabinets and bar were subjected to water damage from a severe roof leak. Luckily, the wood remained intact and only the finish had failed. The old finish was stripped, and the remaining stain removed by sanding. A custom stain was blended to match the owner's dining suite, and five coats of gloss acrylic lacquer were applied by spray over the new color. The resulting finish is durable and hard, with outstanding chemical resistance.
SAVING THE BEST FOR LAST
After much needed repair and renovations to this lovely Remleys Point
home, it’s time to celebrate – by tackling the kitchen! Beautiful selections in
countertop stone, new hardware, a brilliantly functional new sink, and of course – finishes
for the cabinets!
EXTERIOR DOOR RESTORATION, MT PLEASANT
These double door entrys had been finished using inferior materials that did not withstand the elements. After careful stripping and sanding, four coats of an exceptionally high quality exterior wood finish designed specifically for doors was applied by hand. This is a permanent solution -this finish will not fail like the previous one did.
"It's hard to believe those are the same doors! They look great!" - R. M., Mt. Pleasant.
IN THE BEDROOM
This desk and armoire combination had become badly faded due to sunlight exposure. The switch was made from a stain and varnish to a semi-gloss enamel tinted one shade lighter than the wall color. This created a more open feel, and being an acrylic product, will not yellow or fade.
AND THE BATH
A bath with both a walk in shower and a jacuzzi tub is going to be exposed to high humidity. A gloss industrial acrylic was the call in a deep blue-grey. This high wearing and moisture resistant finish will give many years of service.
